{"id":106,"date":"2021-05-24T17:38:49","date_gmt":"2021-05-24T17:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/freedance.hr\/en\/?p=106"},"modified":"2024-04-14T14:42:24","modified_gmt":"2024-04-14T13:42:24","slug":"magnetic-field-of-play-work-in-progress-antistatic-international-festival-for-contemporary-dance-and-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/freedance.hr\/en\/magnetic-field-of-play-work-in-progress-antistatic-international-festival-for-contemporary-dance-and-performance\/","title":{"rendered":"Magnetic Field of Play &#8211; work in progress@ Antistatic International Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Artists of the project <em>Magnetic Field of Play<\/em>  (work in progress)  are planning a residency within (Non)Aligned Movements at Antistatic International Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance in Sofia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Non)Aligned Movements is the project developed in the frame of the Balkan dance network \u2013 Nomad Dance Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artists in residence: Melita Spahi\u0107 Bezjak and Larisa Lipovac Navojec<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>about residency project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Magnetic Field of Play<\/em> is inspired by Nikola Tesla and imagined as a multidisciplinary performance that plays with physical terms, phenomena, laws and rules, invented games and stories \u2013 trying to connect scientific and artistic starting points in creative work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The creative team will explore objects, stories, poetry and theremin, that operates on the principle of a magnetic field. And each of that starting point becomes part of the equations and formulas that might be formed during the research process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The performative space and scenography, as well as certain parts of the performance, will be questioned in relation to specific spaces (Nikola Tesla\u2019s Demonstration Cabinet), text research works, inventions. (Independent Study and Certificate Program).  In 2018 she finished studies at MA SODA\/HZT program in Berlin and received the title sc.mag.Art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years she participated in making more than 90 different performances (from contemporary dance, musicals, drama to children and youth theater). She created 17 performances as author. Today she works as performer, choreographer, creator, author, pedagogue, producer and organizer of different dance projects in theater, commercial industry, video and film. She studied dance at the Ana Maletic School for Contemporary Dance in Zagreb, Croatia and continued her studies at London Contemporary Dance School (MA in Contemporary dance , 2007). She is the author and choreographer of numerous dance and theatre projects in both the UK and Croatia. Currently, she is based in Karlovac, Croatia where she founded Free Dance &#8211; non-profit organisation in culture and initiated Karlovac dance festival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Following on her artistic ethos to connect with nature, universe and humans she is exploring various projects in collaborative laboratory with different art practices and artists active in those disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melita is practising dance, developing on diferent methods to create and working as a choreographer, performer, producer, curator and teacher.
