“La Lola/ The one that knows”
Synopsis: Going thought that life-dead-life circle of all nature, constantly re-transforming, because of this dual nature our work is to apprehend the timing of both; to allow what must die to die, and what must live to live. Because the time is in constant motion, we are reborn every time, so how do we travel in this transformation process, to going back to the begging where there was nothing.
Short project description: The mail inspiration for this production, work in progress performance comes from the story “The Red Shoes” from the book “Women Who Run with the Wolves” by Clarissa Pirkola Estes. It reveals how within every woman their lives a Wild Woman, filled with passionate creativity and ageless knowing – but repressed for centuries by a value system that trivializes emotional truth, intuitive wisdom and instinctual self-confidence. The idea of this performance comes from the choreographer’s interest in addressing the appearance of dizziness and drainage, losing and finding new aspect of one self as a result of the fast lifestyle we face today from a female energy perspective.
“Teodora Ezovska (06.03.1997) began her dance career at the age of seven, in the local dance studio in Struga, where she was a member for twelve years. Hence the children’s dream and desire for dance, which translated into later years, so she continues her studies at the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje, Department of Pedagogy- Contemporary Dance, under the leadership of Iskra Shukarova, where she has strengthened and deepened her dance vocabulary.
Her interest, for the last four years, has been interdisciplinary work, and their relationship between them. This gives her the opportunity to be part of national and international projects such as “Talks with Sara”- North Macedonia ’19, “Theatre and Integration”- N.Macedonia ’20, “Conversation Chair”- S.Macedonia ’21, “Composition, Research and Choreographic Laboratory”- Greece ’22, “Instant Composition”- Slovenia ’22 and working with many actors, directors, poets, which opens up new views on creativity and creation.
She is the цхореограпхер of “The circle is not round”, which premiered in Thessaloniki, part of the program “Moving Imprints” 2022, and with the same performance she took part at the “Impro.dance fest” festival in Istanbul, Turkey and the “Festival of Choreographic Miniatures” in Belgrade, Serbia, where she won the third award for her choreography and performance. She is also the director and author of the short dance film “Body of Water, Body of the Earth”, which took part in the festival, “Insights Digital” in the UK, and in “Cuerpo Transparente” in Buenos Aires, Argentina.”
