19.30 \u2502<\/strong> Invisible Forest <\/strong><\/em>\u2502<\/strong> Mariana Tengner Barros<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Invisible Forest<\/em> is a project that was born in 2020, as part of the process of my Piece of the Heart: EXCALIBUR<\/em> in collaboration with graphic artist Mark Angelo and the team of A Bela Associa\u00e7\u0103o. This piece designs disciplinary crossings created from the desire to value Nature, with a special focus on trees and the importance they have in the balance of ecosystems.
From the mapping of the oldest trees that exist in the cities, we developed symbolic actions resulting from the dialogue with the local community, small performances and video recordings, creating an autonomous, temporary and mobile performance space that invites the public to open their senses, in the search to give visibility to the invisible, sound to silence and form to the unknown. The aim is to create connections, share knowledge and raise awareness, through art, for the protection of the Forest, which can start with the tree at the doorstep…
Like the few trees we see caged in the cement of city walkways, the connection between people has deteriorated and is the target of murderous pruning. We are led to believe that we live in an age of hyper-connection, in which we have access to technologies that connect us at speeds never before experienced, but, in \u201creal\u201d life, we are increasingly isolated, controlled and deluded.
The forest is the example par excellence of community, interdependence and cooperation among all beings. Yet the world’s forests are being decimated by the mechanics of rampant technical capitalism. Life starts with a tree…
More active awareness is needed, with continued and sustained planning, which distinguishes itself from isolated achievements to comply with statistics and government regulations of good practice.
Why was the connection lost?
The Invisible Forest<\/em> comes to the Karlovac Dance Festival with a team of 3 elements that mix together the essence of witches and ninjas and that will open and reveal spaces of awareness in a dialogue between dance and live percussion on site specific location near an ancient tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
