The new piece created by Adrienn H\u00f3d and BODHI PROJECT is focusing on paradoxical phenomenons between movement, stillness, monotonity and attitude. The deconstruction that can be observed through-out the piece brings together the tough athleticness of marching bands and the sensitivity of the Chopin nocturnes. The contradictory nature of the deconstructed performances thus force the audience to look beyond the object of their attention and observe a deeper sense. This way the dancers raise questions on individuality and collectivity while building a piece that brings strong provocative characteristics that are not unfamiliar to the work of Adrienn H\u00f3d. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

BODHI PROJECT \/ Adrienn Hod <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

BODHI PROJECT<\/b><\/span><\/span> is considered one of the most profiled contemporary companies for young professional dancers in Europe. Founded in 2008, internationally touring company BODHI PROJECT is part of the blackmountain non-profit organization, an association to promote contemporary dance and performance in Austria and abroad. Its \u201chome base\u201d and production address is SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Guided by the artistic visionary Susan Quinn, BODHI PROJECT\u2019s repertory is stylistically diversified and on tour throughout Europe and internationally. It showcases the artistic and technical excellence of the dancers’ complex movement repertory, demanding theatrical elements and a strong stage presence. All works have been created especially for the company. Platform for new choreographic voices in the international contemporary dance scene, BODHI PROJECT focuses on the avantgarde. Since 2008, more than 40 choreographers from all over the world have been commissioned to create new work for BODHI PROJECT. In season 2019-2020, four choreographers have been commissioned to create new works for the company, among them Stephanie Thiersch, Hillel Kogan, Francesco Scavetta and Adrienn Hod. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Adrienn H\u00f3d<\/b><\/span><\/span> was born in 1975. She graduated at Budapest Contemporary Dance School, the only contemporary dance school in Hungary, founded by Iv\u00e1n Angelus. Her early works were presented at InspirationYoung Choreographers Evenings, organized by Workshop Foundation. She founded OFF Company in1995, then Hodworks in 2007. Same year she was resident of the Research into the Unknown, a research program run by Workshop Foundation, in 2008 she was participant of Meeting Points, a Hungarian-American artistic program. In 2010 he was awarded Trust for Mutual Understanding grant, in 2011 she was resident at Tanzfabrik, in Berlin. Adrienn H\u00f3d was supported to make a new production by Jardin d\u2019Europe EU funded project in 2012 and by Traf\u00f3 House of Contemporary Arts in 2013. In Autumn 2013 she was resident at Headlands Centre for the Arts, in San Francisco, in 2014 fellow of Philadelphia Dance Exchange. In 2012 with Basse danse, in 2014 with \u2019Dawn\u2019, in 2015 with \u2019Conditions of Being a Mortal\u2019 Hodworks has been selected into the Aerowaves 20 Priority Companies. Her choreographies were nominated to Rudolf Laban Prize seven times that she won twice with \u2019Basse danse\u2019 in 2011 with \u2019Dawn\u2019 in 2014. She did choreographic work for the film \u2019Son of Saul\u2019 (directed by L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Nemes Jeles) that won the Oscar as the Best Foreign Language Film in 2016. Her most recent piece with Hodworks, \u2019Grace\u2019 has been premiered the same year and she has been choreographing for the Ljubljana- based En-Knap Group and working in Staatstheater Mainz as the female choreographer of the HOM\/FAM sessions with her duet, \u2019Beliefs\u2019. She received Zolt\u00e1n Imre price in Hungary, in 2016. In 2017 she won the L\u00e1b\u00e1n Rudolf prize again for the choreography of Hodworks: \u2019Grace\u2019. In the same year she created her new piece \u2018Solos\u2019 for Hodworks. She was also invited to collaborate as a choreographer in P\u00e9ter Vall\u00f3\u2019s Shakespeare adaptation \u2018Winter\u2019s Tale\u2019 for Theater Radn\u00f3ti, Budapest. During the summer of 2017 she was collaborated as a choreographer in the new movie \u2018Sunset\u2019 by the film director L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Nemes Jeles. In 2018 she won the L\u00e1b\u00e1n Rudolf prize again for the choreography of Hodworks: \u2019Grace\u2019. In the same year she created her new piece \u2018Sunday\u2019 for Hodworks. The same year she worked as choreographer at \u2018Ithaka\u2019, a performance of Katona J\u00f3zsef Theatre (dir. Kriszta Sz\u00e9kely). In 2019 a new creation, \u2018Mirage\u2019 was produced in Budapest, then she created \u2018Coexist\u2019 in Germany, a co-production with the Unusual Symptoms Company of Staattheater Bremen. In school year 2019 she was invited to lead a course at SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) and in 2020 invited to create a piece for Bodhi project. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
