ABOUT
“Care – Three Shift System” is a new work by choreographer Jasna Layes Vinovrški, created in collaboration with three performers—Koraljka Begović, Melita Spahić Bezjak, and Larisa Lipovac Navojec—who are simultaneously producers, heads of artistic organizations, mothers, partners, and daughters. They have been compelled to develop and practice multiple roles of caregiving across various spheres of activity. The creative process raised questions about how this care—which is deeply interwoven with their identities—impacts them and their bodies. Does it manifest as a sense of control? As a need for constant control? As a state of readiness and responsibility? And where does this need for care—which knows no set working hours—actually come from? These intimate questions intertwine with the global situation, characterized by declining birth rates and increasing life expectancy, where issues of care and nurturing become matters of survival—for both humanity and our very humanity.
